Initially planned for theaters, Sylvie Verheyde's film will instead be released on small screens thanks to Netflix. A win-win situation for Netflix that expands its catalog, as well as for the production that will be able to at least partly make its initial project profitable. A project that took a blow with the pandemic ... So this April 2 that Madame Claude is released!
The film is a biopic on the life of Fernande Grudet, aka Madame Claude. She was the head of a network of luxury prostitution in the years 1960-1970. A pimp played on screen by Karol Rocher. And if not many people know Madame Claude nowadays, she had already made a first appearance in the cinema long ago (in 1977) thanks to Just Jaeckin. The latter is better known for Emmanuellea hot movie also available on Netflix. And her interpretation of the madam was a political-erotic thriller, you can't beat that.
In this new feature film, we follow the story of this woman who made a name for herself in the underworld and who has built an empire on her own, with the help of her right-hand woman, another woman. The latter is called Sidonie and is played by Garance Marillier. She is also the one who will bring about the fall of the pimp at the end of this biopic on gangsterism.
