The panda of Kung Fu Panda has marked the minds of a generation of children. Even better, thanks to the sequels that were created, they were able to grow up with their favorite character. Today, he finds a second life thanks to SVOD.
The history of Kung Fu Panda
Kung Fu Panda is the story of a panda who dreams of being a Kung Fu master while serving soup in his parents' restaurant. His dream, far from reality, is perceived by others as madness. Until the day when he becomes, a little by chance, the new Kung Fu master during a ceremony. A thousand dangers follow, which he manages to overcome thanks to his new friends. Proof that no dream is ever too big and that it can be reached by force of will.
The third part of the trilogy deals with the reunion with his panda father, whom Po thought was gone. Until then, he had always lived with his parents, ducks. The reunion is touching, and the two of them embark for the secret paradise of the pandas. There they meet other pandas, as funny, clumsy and epicurean as he is. But then a villain appears to confront the great Kung Fu masters. Po must then train his fellow pandas to the secrets of Kung Fu. An almost impossible mission...
What is the availability of Kung Fu Panda 3 on Netflix?
Unfortunately, the movie Kung Fu Panda 3 is not available on Netflix. We are saddened by this news, as Netflix does however own the streaming rights to the first two installments as well as "The Secret of the Roller." The latter is a short film made between 2 and 3. A gap that has not yet been filled. The fault perhaps to the very recent character of this film (2016), which could explain more important broadcasting rights than for the two previous films.
No availability on other SVOD platforms either, like Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV+.
We will, however, delight in the series "The Paws of Destiny" which is available on Prime Video as an Amazon original series. This series is designed around the same characters, but in a different format, easier to handle. We can thus follow Po and his friends through shorter adventures, but just as exciting for children with a pencil stroke that does not demerit compared to the movies. We know that, too often, the spin-off series produced by streaming platforms are of a lower quality than the originals. This is not the case here!
No hope is therefore lost for the third and most recent opus of the trilogy to be released in streaming one day if one or the other platform manages to negotiate the rights with Dreamworks!
