Miss Marvel, the opening to other cultures

miss marvel

Miss Marvel is the new series that Disney+ offers in the MCU. It is slightly different from what we have known so far...

Indeed, the series focused on Kamala Khan, a teenager who lives in Jersey City and is a fan of superheroes... And if the series is called Miss Marvel, it is because she particularly likes Captain Marvel. One day, she will realize that she too has powers and that she is therefore one of those she admires.

We will say that the series is different, because for the first time, we follow a teenager. Of course, she is American, but she is originally from Pakistan. As for Shang-chi, Marvel tries to open up to the world by proposing actors from other communities. If we add to this the fact that she is a woman and that she is young, we get a new heroine who does not fit into any known stereotype.

To interpret Kamala, the production has chosen Iman Vellani. To support her: Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz Fawad Khan, etc.. Small surprise, we find two Belgian directors among the chosen directors. They are none other than Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. These two young people are not unknown: they directed Bad Boys 3, so we can say that behind the camera, there is heavy, and it comes from our continent!

Finally, the series enters the fourth phase of the cinematic universe and will be the basis for launching a new movie: The Marvels, where we will find Miss and Captain Marvel. Expected to be released in 2023.
